Urban farming is an effort to use minimalist space located in urban areas to be utilized in order to produce the production. Production is due to meet food needs, comforts of life amid urban air pollution and the feel of the aesthetic in the home town. Urban farming involves not only the thinking of those who have long been involved in the world of agriculture, but also involve animal husbandry, fisheries and even forestry. All built in an order holisticity life. This activity can also be done in the suburbs, even in the smallest blood.

Suburban areas sometimes only used as space waste treatment and placement of final disposal of urban waste. So the behavior and shat very far from the people who live in the vicinity. Availability of life-supporting elements such as water, air, and wholesome food is the basis of the needs of those living clean and healthy.

Urban farming generally do to generate income or food-producing activities, though in some communities the main impetus is recreation and relaxation. Urban farming contributes to food security in two ways: first, increasing the amount of food available to people living in the city, and second, it allows fresh vegetables and fruits and meat products to be made available to urban consumers.

BASIC PERSPECTIVE OF URBAN FARMING
Urban farming was based on the city and the economic value perspective. Limitations of the existing land is not a barrier to actualize its potential economic value. Land is optimized for planting crops with high economic value, such as food crops, ornamental plants, and plants supplier of oxygen in large quantities.
Besides the environmental perspective also helped support. Issues Global warming, high air pollution in urban areas is a threat to the people of the city. A healthy life can be realized if it starts with a development that has the perspective of protecting the environment. Or consider that man is not separate from the environment and vice versa. Between the environment and humans is one thing in this universe.

Distance away from the source of urban food production is also a reason for the importance of urban farming. The freshness of the food available, such as vegetables and fruit degrades the quality of the journey. Things can be done is to bring together access to these foods. Access to nutritious food is another perspective in an effort to locate food and livestock production in cities. With exceptional input of the world's population to urban areas, need fresh food and safely increased.

On this occasion I am interested in trying verticulture with bamboo stands as a container. Because of its scale experiment, I only use two bamboo sticks. Not all plants can be or are suitable for verticulture. Fortunately, most vegetables can be used, which also happened to be really fit my desires vegetable gardening for the benefit of the kitchen. In this case I chose the tomato and red pepper. For the planting medium I use a mixture of soil, compost, and chaff. I use organic materials and patterns of cultivation.

Aquaponics
Aquaponics is the combination of Aquaculture and Hydroponics pulled between that is able to recycle nutrients, using a small fraction of recycled water to allow it to growing fish and plants in an integrated manner. This system is already commonly used by farmers in Indonesia especially in Java. That is what is called intercropping. Planting rice in the rice fields, as well as to keep the fish in paddy fields that. Only in aquaponics, growing medium plants in the ground, but using a planting medium (grow beds), such as gravel.

Hydroponics
Hydroponics (latin; hydro = water; ponos = work) is a method of farming without the use of soil media but using mineral nutrient solutions or other materials that contain nutrients such as coconut fiber, mineral fiber, sand, broken bricks, sawdust , and other media instead of soil.
